Dr. Jimmy Young, pastor of Grace Evangelical Church, will be the featured speaker at the June Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series event, which will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 12:00 p.m. at the Garrett Auditorium.
A Memphis native and graduate of Kingsbury High School, Young played baseball for the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and worked for Proctor and Gamble for two years before enrolling in Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. After graduation, he and his wife, Suzy, moved to Ocala, Florida, to start a church. A few years later, he and his family ‒ which then included three daughters – moved back to Memphis. He worked at Central Church before leaving to start Grace Evangelical Church. Today, in addition to their three children, he and his wife have 10 grandchildren.
