The Leapfrog Group honored four Baptist Memorial Hospitals with an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2024, recognizing their achievements in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital. Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle earned its 26th consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade, and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County received its 13th consecutive “A” grade. Leapfrog also awarded “A” grades to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County for the fourth time and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for the third time in a row.
“We are incredibly proud to receive straight ‘A’s from The Leapfrog Group since 2012 and to be only one of 12 hospitals nationwide to do so,” said Rob Coleman, chief executive officer and administrator of Baptist Golden Triangle. “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to putting patient safety and quality first and is a testament to the excellence of our entire team, from nurses and doctors to support staff.”
Leapfrog assigns a letter grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. Grades are updated every fall and spring.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only ratings program for hospitals that’s based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
