Darryl Strawberry

Baptist team members systemwide are invited to hear former Major League baseball player turned minister Darryl Strawberry speak during cityCURRENT’s free Virtual Signature Breakfast on Friday, Sept. 18 from 9-10:30 a.m. Just click on this link to register to “virtually” attend this event.

During the Baptist-sponsored breakfast, the four-time World Series champion and eight-time All-Star will talk about his on- and off-the-field life, which included numerous challenges such as cancer, drug addiction, childhood abuse and divorce.

cityCURRENT’s Virtual Signature Breakfast brings together business and community leaders focused on making a difference in the Mid-South and beyond.

As part of the event, Baptist is reminding everyone about its Center of Excellence in Addiction Medicine’s toll-free, 24/7 hotline for anyone facing a crisis or relapse, 833-330-3322. Board-certified addiction medicine physicians staff the hotline and can counsel callers, direct them to a hospital emergency department if they need immediate medical care, or schedule an appointment with an addiction medicine physician.
