Don Pounds, Baptist Memorial Health Care’s former senior vice president and chief financial officer, passed away on Friday, Dec. 10. A beloved and devoted leader, Don led Baptist’s finance team from 1999 until his retirement in 2015.
Don first joined Baptist in 1987 as chief financial officer of Baptist Union County and later served as a finance director and vice president for finance. In addition to serving Baptist for nearly 30 years, Don and his wife, Lynn, founded the Donald and Lynn Pounds Scholarship at Baptist Health Sciences University. The fund continues to help support students today.
Don was laid to rest on Sunday, Dec. 12, in his childhood home of Baldwin, Mississippi.
