Five Baptist Memorial Hospitals Earn an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2023

The Leapfrog Group honored five Baptist Memorial Hospitals with an “A” Hospital Safety Grade to recognize their achievements in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital. The hospitals that earned an “A” for Fall 2023 include Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County and NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Congratulations to team members of these hospitals.

Baptist Golden Triangle is one of only 18 hospitals to be awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade on every survey conducted by The Leapfrog Group. This is the group’s 24th survey.

“To be recognized for 11 consecutive years for excellence is a significant achievement for any hospital, and it is a testament to the care Baptist Golden Triangle provides,” said Rob Coleman, CEO and administrator of Baptist Golden Triangle.

Leapfrog assigns a letter grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only ratings program for hospitals that’s based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
