Dr. Mitch Martin is the featured speaker for the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series event on Thursday, Dec. 16 at noon at Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus. Dr. Martin has served as executive director of missions for the Mid-South Baptist Association (MSBA) since 2013. He joined MSBA in July 2008 as church leadership development strategist.
A former pastor of Westwood Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Martin has also served churches in California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Nevada. He is the author of Discipleship Matters: Learning from Timothy’s Spiritual Journey, which takes the reader on a discovery of the 12 most vital spiritual lessons for growing Christians.
Dr. Martin is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and holds Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in California. He has two adult children with his wife, Myra.
