David L. Allen, distinguished professor of practical theology and dean of the Adrian Rogers Center for Biblical Preaching at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, will be the featured speaker for the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series on Thursday, July 18 at noon in Garrett Auditorium, 6027 Walnut Grove Road, on Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis’ campus.
Dean Allen began preaching at age 16 and has taught preaching from the bachelor to the doctoral level for more than four decades. He served as senior pastor of two churches and interim pastor of 13 churches. He is also the founder of PreachingCoach, dedicated to helping pastors and ministry leaders communicate with clarity, competence and confidence.
He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and his doctorate in humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is married to Kate, and they have four children and nine grandchildren.
