Local scout clubs explore health care field with Baptist

Local Memphis Girl Scout and Cub Scout clubs spent time at the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital in early December, participating in fun yet educational health care roles to complete service projects.

Approximately 150 Girl Scouts spent an entire day with Baptist team members, helping with get well cards for a PD POST project, which sends mail to sick children, decorating care bags and completing activity sheets.

On a separate day, 50 Cub Scouts earned a fun badge by touring the hospital and learning about vital signs, infection control and nutrition. These scouts were from underserved areas throughout the Mid-South and enjoyed the opportunity to learn about  health care careers, services, and ways to take care of themselves and others.
