Dr. Chuck Herring, senior pastor of Collierville First Baptist Church, will be the featured speaker at this month’s Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series event, which will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 12:00 p.m. at the Garrett Auditorium.
The Saltillo, Mississippi, native earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education from Mississippi State University. He then became a high school football coach and teacher. At 30, God called him to preach, and he and his family moved to Louisiana so he could attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After earning a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry, he pastored churches in Folsome, Louisiana; Richland, Mississippi; and Memphis, Tennessee before coming to Collierville First Baptist Church in 2003. He and his wife, Darlene, have two children and three grandchildren.
