Chuck Herring, senior pastor at Collierville First Baptist Church, will be the featured speaker for the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series on Thursday, Dec. 21, at noon in Garrett Auditorium, 6027 Walnut Grove Road, on the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis campus.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Mississippi State University, Pastor Herring went on to coach high school football for eight seasons. After God called him to preach, he and his family moved to New Orleans, where he earned his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is a former pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Folsom, Louisiana, and Mullins Station Baptist Church in Memphis. He is a former senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Richland, Mississippi. Pastor Herring has led Collierville First Baptist Church for the last two decades. He and his wife, Darlene, still love Mississippi State football and spending every Sunday afternoon with their family and grandkids. His chief focus is knowing Jesus and making Him known.
