Charles Fowler, president of Carson-Newman University, will be the featured speaker for the Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series on Thursday, Dec. 18 at noon in Garrett Auditorium. The auditorium is located at 6027 Walnut Grove Road on Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis’ campus.
A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Fowler was unanimously elected as the 23rd president of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee, in 2019. He is a former senior pastor of Germantown Baptist Church in Germantown, Tennessee, and a graduate of Union University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Mississippi State University.
Fowler is also an editor and published author and has served on the board of trustees for several organizations. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Sandra, for 39 years. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
