The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation awarded a $10,000 scholarship to Baptist Health Sciences University Senior Nursing student Anthony Guinn after he was selected as a 2023 Power of We Scholar by the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) – Memphis Chapter.
Anthony was inspired to become a nurse by his mother, who has been a nurse since he was 7 years old. He said the scholarship not only helps him pay for school, but is a source of encouragement to continue working toward his goals. He hopes to eventually earn a doctorate.
Each year since 2013, the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation has awarded $10,000 scholarships to outstanding students pursuing careers in health care. The Power of We Scholarship is intended to help promote health equity by helping minority students pay for their education in health care. Read more at BCBST.
