Baptist Cancer Center was the flagship sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Central Mississippi walk on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
Around 50 walkers and 10 volunteers from Baptist participated in the event. Baptist team members promoted mammograms with educational tours of Baptist’s Mobile Mammography Unit. Baptist Cancer Center distributed educational materials and sponsored the Selfie Station for survivors and walkers.
“Making Strides of Central Mississippi is a key event in our area highlighting breast cancer awareness and early detection,” said Baptist Regional Oncology Director Deniece Ponder. “Up to 10,000 walkers participate each year, including many Baptist breast cancer survivors. It’s an honor to sponsor this event and walk alongside them and others in our community.”
