Baptist Union County and Baptist Memphis Nurses Earn DAISY Awards

Baptist Union County and Baptist Memphis honored nurses with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for going above and beyond and showing empathy for patients and their families.

Amy Royce, RN at Baptist Union County, earned the DAISY Award for her dedication and compassion. She was nominated by a patient who said, “Amy instantly felt like family. I had not delivered at shift change, and she stayed over after a long shift to help me deliver and meet my daughter.”

Heather Reid, CNO at Baptist Union County, said, “It is truly an honor to recognize Amy for her dedication and compassion for patients.”

Katie Ricks, RN in Neuro-ICU at Baptist Memphis, won a DAISY Award for helping a patient’s family member feel more at ease. The family member said that when Katie became his grandmother’s nurse he felt much more at ease because of her “warm, caring presence.”

The nominator said, “I could tell with everything she did that she really cared. She truly went above and beyond to make my grandmother comfortable during a difficult time.”
