Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City team members recently volunteered at Soul Food Café, an event that provides hot meals for the less fortunate in Obion County. The hospital also helped sponsor the event, which is provided monthly by the Obion County Ministerial Association on first and third Thursday evenings at the Obion County Fairgrounds.
Jennifer Borneman, director of admissions at Baptist Union City and a volunteer at the event, delivered an inspirational message and blessing. After distributing the food prepared for around 175 people, team members refilled drinks and spent time visiting with and encouraging the guests.
Volunteers included staff from Baptist Union City hospital admissions, health information management, nursing, pastoral care and nuclear medicine. Team members and their family members who volunteered at the event include Baptist Union City Director of Pastoral Care Michael Dennison, Heather Alexander, Susan Beecham, Tom Blanchard, Carol Blanchard, Megan Munoz, Fernando Munoz, Whitney Wisdom, Trey Parks, India Lewis, John Taylor and Robbie Taylor.
