Baptist Union City held a special devotion on Wednesday, March 8, to observe the three-year anniversary of COVID-19. Russell Zik, associate pastor of Second Baptist Church in Union City, provided the message of perseverance through Christ in the midst of adversity.

The Rev. Curtis McLendon, volunteer chaplain with Baptist, recited the Lord’s Prayer over the hospital intercom, and staff were encouraged to pause briefly.

During the service, the hospital leadership team expressed gratitude to team members for their compassionate care while under immense pressure.

“During the pandemic, I witnessed countless times the true spirit of service and faith by the family of Baptist Union City,” said Skipper Bondurant, Baptist Union City administrator and CEO.

Chaplain Michael Dennison, Baptist Union City director of pastoral care, said, “Not only do we recognize our health care workers, but we also honor the loving memories of those who were lost during the pandemic, and we pray that God will supply their families with peace and comfort.”
