Baptist Team Members Can Help Support NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief Fundraiser

This month, NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is holding its second annual “Tuga’s Project” fundraiser. Money raised will help the center continue providing free bereavement services to the community.

KFC/Taco Bell restaurants in the Memphis area, Northeast Arkansas, Mississippi and Missouri are participating in the fundraiser. Baptist team members interested in supporting the NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief can do so by dining at one of these locations. Last year’s event raised more than $36,000, and 100% of the funds benefited the center and its patients.

The NEA Baptist Center for Good Grief provides bereavement services to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. Licensed mental health providers counsel children, teens and adults through individual and group sessions. The center has helped more than 525 people since opening in October 2017. All services are free to the community and are made possible by generous donations to the NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation. Baptist also operates grief centers in Memphis and Collierville, Tennessee. For more information about the Baptist Centers for Good Grief, click here.

Tuga, a plush comfort friend, was created by one of the center’s staff members, and all kids and teens who get counseling receive one. Tuga, which means “grief or deep sorrow” in Croatian, can help children grieving and mourning the loss of a loved one.
