Baptist System Director of Pastoral Care to Speak at Next Preaching Series Event

Rev. Anthony Burdick, Baptist’s system director of pastoral care, will be the featured speaker at this month’s Rev. Jimmy Terry Preaching Series event, which will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 12:00 p.m. at the Garrett Auditorium.

Rev. Burdick joined Baptist’s pastoral care department in June 1994 as a staff chaplain. He became system director of pastoral care in February 2006. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary after completing his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis. After several years of additional post-graduate work, he completed a two-year chaplaincy residency at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas.

He serves on the advisory board of CrossLink International’s Memphis office, a medical mission support ministry. He served on the board of FaithWalk Communities Inc., a lay renewal ministry based in Bartlett, Tennessee, from 2010 to 2015, and he continues to support this ministry by serving as a pastor on FaithWalk weekends every spring and fall.

He and his wife, Libby, have two children and are active members of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee.
