Baptist participated in the Girl Scouts Heart of the South’s Totally Trefoil event on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi. This free event, attended by more than 1,000 people, was a celebration of Girl Scouts, as well as those not in Girl Scouts from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Attendees who stopped by the Baptist booth had the opportunity to earn a Girl Scout badge after completing CPR training. Baptist Cancer Center team members offered tours of the MEGA Colon, a walk-through, interactive educational experience. Baptist Ambulance was also on site for touring.
Participants also received SHE (Science, Health, Empowerment) Leads the Way bags. SHE Leads the Way is a Baptist Health Sciences University (BHSU) HealthCORE initiative to promote science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields to middle school, high school and college students.
