Collins Chapel Connectional Hospital (CCCH) Health Center recently awarded Baptist Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Greg Duckett its Healthcare Legacy Award.
According to Bishop Henry M. Williamson Sr., chairman of the CCCH board of directors, Duckett earned the award “because you are truly a pioneer in the health care profession and a catalyst for change in the industry.”
Collins Chapel Hospital opened in North Memphis more than a century ago. At that time, it was the only hospital in the Memphis area that treated African Americans. It provided health care to marginalized and disenfranchised patients until the early 1980s.
Added Williamson, “We applaud and celebrate you as an African American health care professional who stands on the shoulders of those who founded the Collins Chapel Hospital.”
