On National Donor Day, Friday, Feb. 14, Baptist Heart Institute and Mid-South Transplant Foundation will unite nine heart transplant recipients with their donors’ families at the Heart to Heart: Honoring the Gift of Life event. This is the largest known meeting of heart transplant recipients and donor families. Ron Childers, whose mother received a heart transplant at Baptist in 1995, will help facilitate the first-time meetings between donor families and recipients.
