Alexander Quesenberry, director of Pharmacy at Baptist Cancer Center and Baptist Clinical Research Institute, recently participated in the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association’s (HOPA) Virtual Hill Day with a presentation highlighting major issues in the world of oncology pharmacy. He has also been active in promoting more awareness of the critical situation facing cancer patients across the U.S. due to shortages of several commonly used chemotherapy medications, including carboplatin and cisplatin.
This is the third time Quesenberry has participated in Virtual Hill Day. He spoke with aides for Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Sen. Bill Haggerty, Rep. Mark Green and Sen. Rand Paul. The aides presented upcoming bills to lower the out-of-pocket costs for oral chemotherapy and offer provider status for oncology pharmacists.
