Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi team members gathered on Wednesday, April 10, to celebrate after Vizient ranked the hospital first among 168 large, specialized complex care medical centers for quality and accountability in the U.S.
The rankings, based on the Vizient Quality and Accountability scorecard, measure performance on the quality of patient care in domains including mortality, efficiency, safety, patient centeredness and equity.
“These rankings reflect the exceptional skill of our hospital medical staff, the high-quality care provided by our team members and the excellent systems the hospital has developed to ensure the best outcomes and care for our patients,” said Dr. Paul Levy, chief medical officer at Baptist North Mississippi.
The Vizient Quality and Accountability ranking helps participating hospitals and health systems understand their performance against their peers and identifies structures and processes associated with high performance in quality and safety across a broad spectrum of patient care activity.
“Earning this recognition while ranked along with hospitals such as Mayo Clinic, NYU and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, demonstrates our team’s unwavering commitment to ongoing improvement and delivery of quality of care,” said Brian Welton, CEO and administrator at Baptist North Mississippi. “We are grateful to our team for their tireless efforts and dedication to offering our patients safe high-quality care.”
