Baptist Memphis transplant patient John Daniel was honored at the 2017 Mid-South Heart Ball in late February. An American Heart Association (AHA) event, the ball offered Baptist Memphis the opportunity to sponsor a table in John’s honor, allowing team members to share in his celebration.

“His video and much of his speech was dedicated to our team for the care he received as he waited for this gift of life, getting a ventricular assist device (VAD) and ultimately his new heart! I was so proud of everyone,” shared Dana Dye, vice president and CEO/administrator at Baptist Memphis.

Last year, the Heart Ball campaign helped the AHA raise more than $70 million across the U.S., with funds going to research and prevention.
