On April 24, Baptist Memorial Medical Education received important news. As of April 19, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education informed Baptist that the sponsoring institution for all of the Baptist-sponsored residency programs had once again been granted “Continued Accreditation Without Citation.”

“Baptist Memphis is the primary sponsoring facility for our diagnostic radiology and family medicine residency programs.  We are immensely thankful to all of our participating sites for providing us with the administrative, financial, and clinical support and guidance that is essential to the success of our residency programs,” said Dr. Anne Sullivan, Designated Institutional Official and Chief Quality and Academic Officer for Baptist Memorial Medical Education.

This summer, Baptist will welcome internal medicine residents at Baptist Golden Triangle to begin their first academic year at the recently accredited internal medicine residency program in Columbus, Miss. Similarly, NEA Baptist will interview applicants this fall for the newly accredited internal medicine residency program in Jonesboro, Ark., and matriculate its first class in July 2018. Baptist Memphis continues to sponsor programs in diagnostic radiology and family medicine that provide post-graduate training for resident physicians.
