Two recent DAISY Award winners at Baptist Memphis demonstrated compassion and exceptional nursing skills.
Temitope Adefisoye, RN on 3 South at Baptist Memphis, earned a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for her outstanding work. She was nominated by a patient’s family member who said, “From our first interaction, I knew Temitope was an extraordinary nurse. She was kind, caring and courteous and kept us informed every step of our journey.”
The nominator continued, “She was warm and personable, and she made us feel like we were all that mattered to her in that moment. I know she had other patients, but she was never rushed. Temitope’s kind spirit, gentle manner and words of real hope gave us all comfort to know that were in good hands.”
Baptist Memphis also presented a DAISY Award to Ghada Abu Ibaya, RN on 2 West. Her nominator said, “Ghada has a gentle bedside manner, very thorough and efficient. She always made sure my father had clean bandages, gown and bed linens before leaving at the end of her shift.”
The patient’s family member continued, “When my father took a turn for the worse, Ghada calmly called the charge nurse and began doing everything she could to stabilize him. When it came time to involve palliative care, Ghada explained what this meant. When my father passed away, Ghada assisted the nurse taking care of him at the time and comforted us. Ghada stands out as an exemplary employee and definitely deserves this DAISY Award.”
