Baptist Memorial Health Care is pleased to announce upcoming changes within the Corporate Human Resources team. Holly Turner, Sherri Brooks and Kristy Gay will begin transitioning into their new leadership roles next week.
Holly Turner is assuming the new role of chief human resources officer for the Baptist Corporate areas, as well as the West Tennessee and Arkansas markets. Holly joined Baptist in 2003 as an administrative intern in human resources and, since that time, has become known as a highly trusted human resources advisor and colleague.
Throughout her career at Baptist, Holly has served in various human resources leadership positions, including the Corporate role of system director, before returning to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis as human resources director. In 2022, Holly came back to Corporate as the system director of learning and engagement, where she has done an outstanding job spearheading our systemwide organizational learning strategies, as well as designing and deploying all aspects of our team engagement activities.
Holly earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Memphis. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute and as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resources Management.
Sherri Brooks, currently serving as system director of our newly launched Center for Career Development (CCD), is transitioning to chief learning officer for Baptist. In addition to the CCD, Sherri will assume responsibility for organizational learning, including new team member orientation, new leader orientation, our American Heart Association training center, learning management administration (HealthStream) and continuing education programs inclusive of continuing medical education.
Sherri joined Baptist in May 2022 and has done an excellent job designing and launching our CCD in November 2023. Assuming the additional responsibilities of other aspects of organizational learning further aligns all of our learning and development programming into one vertical.
Sherri started her career as a speech pathologist practicing in the clinical setting. She later spent 11 years in higher education as a tenured associate professor at Arkansas State University before transitioning her career into operations, where she held various leadership positions in the realm of rehab and kidney care/dialysis.
Sherri earned a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and a master’s in communication disorders from Arkansas State University. She earned her PhD in rehabilitation science from the University of Kentucky.
Kristy Gay joined Baptist in 2019 as our patient experience officer and, in 2023, assumed the additional responsibility of working with our leadership teams on our efforts around provider engagement strategies. Kristy’s role is being further expanded to include team member engagement as our new chief experience officer, combining our efforts around all the people we serve, whether it be patients or fellow care team members.
Kristy began her career as a patient account representative before moving into a customer relations supervisory role. She went on to spend seven years at Press Ganey, with the bulk of that time serving as a senior advisor before joining Baptist. Kristy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Henderson State University and a Master of Health Administration from Ohio University.
