Doctors help children get ready for school.
Baptist Medical Group physicians provided back-to-school sports physicals for 40 children during the Memphis Athletic Ministries’ Back to School Bash. The Lionel Hollins Foundation hosted the event.

BMG Welcomes New Specialist
BMG Welcomes New SpecialistJames Z. Whatley IV, MD has joined Baptist Medical Group-Gastrointestinal Specialists. Dr. Whatley is board certified and completed his undergraduate degree, residency and fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is a member of both the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology. He joins other members of BMG-Gastrointestinal Specialists, including Paul Bierman, MD; Kenneth Fields, MD; Edward Friedman, MD; Gerald Lieberman, MD; and Randelon Smith, MD.

Hospitalist Group Growing
The Baptist Medical Group hospitalist program has grown from four physicians – Dr. Brennan McClullar, Dr. John Jasper II, Dr. Suzanne Warford and Dr. Salman Zafar – to include 100 full-time physicians, three PRN physicians, three nurse practitioners, two LPN rounding nurses and one RN head nurse.  Four additional physicians are joining soon. The goal of the hospitalist group is to provide quality and cost-effective care to the patients and communities Baptist serves.
