Baptist Medical Group adds oncologist, orthopedist, pediatricians

Baptist Medical Group recently added several new physicians to its roster of more than 750 providers, making the Mid-South’s largest multispecialty physician practice even larger.

Dr. Philip Lammers, a medical oncologist, recently joined the Baptist Cancer Center team. He provides cancer services in the metro-Memphis area and is medical director of oncology clinical research.

Board certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine, Dr. Lammers practiced for 5 years at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry before coming to the Baptist Cancer Center.

A graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Dr. Lammers completed an internal medicine residency at Washington University School of Medicine- St. Louis and a fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Baptist Medical Group-River City Pediatrics added 3 new physicians to its staff: Dr. Jennifer Crawford, Dr. Candice Crewse and Dr. Samantha Ketron. They join the clinic’s existing doctors, Dr. Janet Geiger and Dr. Ellen Stecker.

Dr. Crawford earned her medical degree from UT Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed her pediatric residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

After receiving her medical degree from East Tennessee State University College of Medicine, Dr. Crewse completed her pediatric residency at Duke University Hospital. Before joining Baptist Medical Group-River City Pediatrics, she was in private practice in Brentwood, Tennessee.

Like Dr. Crawford, Dr. Ketron also graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Michael Heck recently became the first Baptist Medical Group orthopedist in the metro-Memphis area. He is board certified and brings more than 34 years of experience to Baptist Medical Group and Family Physicians Group.

Before joining Family Physicians Group, Dr. Heck spent 11 years with OrthoMemphis. Prior to joining that group, he practiced at Dyersburg Orthopedic Clinic for 18 years.

Dr. Heck earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, and completed his orthopedic residency at Jacksonville Health Education Programs-University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
