Baptist Memorial Hospital-Leake trains nurses in the summer as part of the Mississippi Summer Student Nurse Externship Program, organized by the Mississippi Hospital Association. Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation and the Leake County Development Association provided funding for Baptist Leake’s participation in the program this year.
Three of the externship preceptors at Baptist Leake this summer were once externs. Registered Nurses and Preceptors Kaehlyn Jenkins, Halli Henton and Kayla Wallace were hired after completing the externship program and graduating. They are currently training externs Amber Ben, Hallie Harrison and Alix Withers.
