Baptist Leake Among Six Baptist Memorial Hospitals to Earn High Ratings From CMS

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded Baptist Memorial Hospital-Leake five stars for quality, the federal agency’s highest distinction for care. This is the second year in a row that Baptist Leake has received five stars, and it is one of only two hospitals in Mississippi to earn the rating. Five other Baptist Memorial hospitals earned four stars for quality.

“We are excited to receive a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services,” said Daryl Weaver, CEO and administrator of Baptist Leake. “This recognition highlights the excellence and dedication of our team and their commitment to providing high-quality health care for our patients every day.”

CMS rated more than 3,000 hospitals in the U.S., and less than 10% earned five stars. The ratings are based on 46 hospital quality measures, which are divided into five quality categories — mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience and timely and effective care.

Baptist Memorial hospitals awarded four stars include Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County.
