Baptist Memorial Health Care recently donated three pallets of Nike face shields, 46 cases of teddy bear masks and 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to Shelby County Schools (SCS) for its reopening. SCS distributed these items as needed to students and staff members to help provide protection against COVID-19.
Baptist started purchasing large quantities of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face masks and face shields, when the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020. Baptist also received donations of these supplies from corporations, community organizations and individuals because of the limited access to these critical items. Now that the supply chain has expanded, Baptist has started donating PPE to not-for-profit organizations that could benefit from these items, such as schools and community agencies.
