About 100 Baptist DeSoto team members who work on COVID-19 units got a special treat on Monday when Grammy Award-winning singer/rapper Lizzo bought them lunch.
One of Lizzo’s representatives called Baptist DeSoto house supervisor Jennifer Emerson on Sunday afternoon and asked if the artist could buy lunch for some of the hospital’s team members. Jennifer quickly agreed, and the rep promised to have lunch delivered by 11:30 the next day.
True to her word, 100 Potbelly sandwiches arrived at the hospital on Monday afternoon, and soon afterward, Jennifer received an email that included this video from Lizzo herself, thanking the team for keeping people safe and healthy.
