NEA Baptist Hospital and Baptist DeSoto celebrated Veterans Day by serving those who served our country. Both hospitals treated veterans to a special meal to thank them for their sacrifice.
On Veterans Day and the day before, NEA Baptist provided a free breakfast to team members who served in the military.
Baptist DeSoto hosted a special program that featured patriotic music, encouraging words and expressions of appreciation for veterans in attendance. The hospital also awarded physical education grants to Northpoint Christian School, Center Hill Elementary and Pleasant Hill Elementary for collecting the most “Shoeboxes for Soldiers,” boxes full of toiletries and snacks for service members. Baptist DeSoto collected a total of 5,000 boxes during this year’s drive, and MS Project Package will send them to troops stationed overseas. Following the program, veterans enjoyed a free brunch, and the hospital offered them free health screenings.
