Six Baptist Memorial Hospitals Recognized for Heart Attack Treatment

Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto is one of six Baptist Memorial hospitals to earn the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain — MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award. This is the eighth year in a row that Baptist DeSoto has received the honor.

“We are proud to be recognized for providing high-level, quality cardiac care for our community,” said Brian Hogan, administrator and CEO of Baptist DeSoto. “This recognition is an honor for our hospital and a testament to the expertise and efforts of our team.”

Congratulations to all Baptist Memorial hospitals earning the 2022 Chest Pain — MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award. They include:

  • Baptist DeSoto — Eight years in a row
  • Baptist Memphis — Six years in a row
  • Baptist North Mississippi — Four years in a row
  • NEA Baptist — Four years in a row
  • Baptist Golden Triangle — Three years in a row
  • Mississippi Baptist Medical Center — Two years in a row

The award recognizes a hospital’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients according to the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association’s clinical standards of care.

To receive the 2022 Chest Pain — MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, a hospital must have demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain — MI Registry for two consecutive years (2020 and 2021) and performed at the highest level for specific performance measures. Only 240 hospitals nationwide received the honor.

Participation in the registry immerses hospitals in a robust quality improvement process that includes using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.
