The American College of Cardiology has recognized Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis with the HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence. The honor highlights a hospital’s commitment to providing exceptional cardiovascular care and consistently achieving outstanding patient outcomes.

Baptist Memphis, which received the recognition in August, is the second Baptist Memorial Hospital to earn a HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence. In March, Baptist DeSoto became the first hospital in Mississippi to receive the honor.

To earn this distinction, Baptist Desoto and Baptist Memphis successfully achieved four ACC cardiovascular accreditations in the areas of chest pain, heart failure, catheterization lab and electrophysiology lab. Baptist Memphis also achieved a transcatheter valve certification. These accreditations reflect the hospital’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in cardiovascular treatment, diagnosis and patient-centered care.

The ACC, a leader in transforming cardiovascular care and improving heart health, establishes standards for cardiovascular care and offers comprehensive accreditation services to ensure hospitals provide high-quality, evidence-based care.
