The Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital hosted the third annual P.D. Parrot Christmas Party for community members, staff, patients and families on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women.
Guests enjoyed photos with Santa, visits with P.D. Parrot, cookies, hot cocoa, games and crafts. Some participants contributed new toys to be given to patients.
“We enjoy hosting holiday parties for the community. When kids come to events like this, they see the hospital can be a fun and friendly place with kind staff,” said Julianne Scholes, child life specialist at Baptist Women’s Hospital. “The next time they need to walk through our doors for a surgery, a lab draw or even an emergency room visit, I hope they remember the fun they had and trust the hospital is not a scary place.”
