Emilee posted a message on her unit’s Facebook page offering to give rides to anyone who didn’t feel safe driving. The nominator said, “This is just one example of the selflessness and dedication she shows to the ICU family and her patients. Emilee will come in extra for half a shift or an entire shift at a moment’s notice.” The nominator said Emilee regularly goes above and beyond for her patients, including purchasing a gift for a terminal cancer patient.

Baptist Golden Triangle

Ron Welch, clinical lead pharmacist, was selected as Service First Champion for going the extra mile to find a substitute medicine for a patient. He also found a way to mix the medication so it would flow through the patient’s nasogastric tube, which made administration easier for nurses. Ron mixed the medication three times a day during the patient’s stay. “He worked on a solution all morning. The family was very appreciative and thanked us many times for making sure the patient was able to get his medication,” the nominator said.

Baptist Memphis

Kirsten Baxter, tissue implant coordinator in the Operating Room, earned Service First Champion recognition for her dedication. Her nominator said, “She has essentially single-handedly implemented a complicated electronic system for tracking every aspect of acquisition, receipt, storage and issuance of tissues.” Kirsten was commended for her initiative, dedication and willingness to help others, including mentoring.

Tradece Abdul Jalil, pharmacy technician, was selected as Service First Champion for her compassion. Tradece stepped up to help a fellow team member who was experiencing mobility issues and having difficulty locating the Mail Order Pharmacy in another building. The nominator said, “Tradece had me sit down and wait because she was going to take care of getting my prescription to the right location. I cannot praise her enough for the kindness she showed me.”

Baptist Tipton

The baby had recently been placed under new guardianship and had no clothes to wear. Madeleine quickly responded on her day off, donating multiple items of clothing for the infant. The nominator praised Madeleine’s willingness to help without hesitation and said she’s “consistently mentioned positively in patient feedback.”
