Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County hosted a Community Meet and Greet and Ribbon Cutting on Friday, July 28 to celebrate the formal announcement of Med-Trans/Hospital Wing’s intentions of opening an air medical base of operations in Carroll County. Hospital Wing, a Mid-South-based air ambulance company, was acquired by Med-Trans in 2021.
“Baptist and Hospital Wing’s longstanding relationship has provided a strong foundation for Hospital Wing’s air ambulance service to be added in Carroll County and for continued quality care,” said Susan Breeden, CEO and administrator of Baptist Carroll County.
During the event, community members met with Baptist team members and enjoyed lunch while viewing a Hospital Wing helicopter. Hospital Wing representatives shared details about their history and services offered, spoke about Hospital Wing’s long relationship with Baptist Memorial Health Care and thanked those who helped make the transition to operating at Baptist Carroll County possible.
Hospital Wing operates Airbus EC 130 aircraft staffed by critical care nurses and paramedics with leading-edge technology and the ability to carry blood and plasma on each flight for patients who may need an emergency transfusion.
