Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County placed a commemorative plaque honoring Michael Cupples on a bench at its Baptist Walking Track and held a dedication ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 14. Michael worked as a nursing informatics analyst at the hospital. His colleagues, friends and family have grieved his recent sudden passing.
Michael served Baptist for 14 years, beginning in 2009 when he worked as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit.
Chaplain Michael Dennison, the director of pastoral care for the hospital, led the dedication ceremony, which was attended by Michael’s wife, Jana, and their two children, Evan and Ian.
“Baptist Carroll County has an amazing culture that creates a family-like bond within our staff. To all of us, Michael Cupples and his wife, Jana, are and always will be some of our dearest friends,” said Chaplain Dennison. “Mike persevered in his faith in Christ and in his calling to be a nurse. He invested his time and energy in people, providing them with comfort, compassionate care and an outstanding testimony that embodies the Baptist mission, vision and values. We honor our dear brother with this beautiful bench as a way of memorializing his life and the work that he accomplished at Baptist Carroll County. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family.”
