Chaplain Michael Dennison, director of pastoral care for Baptist Carroll County and Baptist Union City, shared the following Bible verses: “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him,” (Psalm 127:3 NLT), and “But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven,’” (Matthew 19:14 NKJV).
Baptist Union City Team Members Read During Story Time
Story time at the Obion County Public Library is for children ages 1 to 5 and their caregivers on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
Baptist Union City team members India Lewis, staff development; Anita Hayslett, respiratory therapist; and Jenna Newton, who cares for patients in the Critical Care Unit, got the kids moving, singing and laughing with them as they performed their hip-hop version of the song, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.”
Julie James, emergency department director, and Heather Alexander, who works in health information management, brought the kids together in a reading circle for “Pete the Kitty Goes to the Doctor.”
Frankie Underwood, who works in nursing informatics, and Clay Hardy, medical-surgical manager, wore inflatable dinosaur costumes for their playful skit for the book, “How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon?”
Chaplain Dennison said, “We especially want to thank the Obion County Public Library for the services they provide to our community. The work they are doing is making a significant impact on our youth. It’s a real honor and privilege to join with them for fun, innovative and informative events for our community.”
