Baptist Carroll County team members recently participated in readings and crafts during Toddler Time Playgroup, also known as Tot Time, at the Carroll County Public Library, and Baptist Union City team members visited Obion County Public Library as guest readers for story time.

Tot Time is a relaxed and fun environment where kids ages birth through 5 and their caregivers can come together on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

“It’s important to Baptist that we participate in local events, such as Tot Time,” said Michael Dennison, chaplain and director of pastoral care for Baptist Carroll County and Baptist Union City. “Our team enjoys the camaraderie and giving back to the community.”

During the program, Sarah Pitcher, manager of physician relations at Baptist Carroll County, and Leslee Brown, physical therapy assistant at the hospital, read “Pete the Kitty Goes to the Doctor.”

Brianna McKinney, director of pharmacy at Baptist Carroll County, and Micah Ehmke, administrative director at the hospital, read “How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon?” Dennison assisted with crafts for the 15 participants and shared Bible verses.

Baptist Union City Team Members Read During Story Time

Story time at the Obion County Public Library is for children ages 1 to 5 and their caregivers on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.

“Because Baptist Union City and the library care about the community’s health, it’s wonderful that we can work together to help families learn and grow,” said Skipper Bondurant, administrator and chief executive officer at Baptist Union City. “We were able to share with the children how hospital staff works to keep everyone healthy and safe.”

During the program, Dr. Karen Hanks and Dennison read “Pete the Kitty Goes to the Doctor.”

Baptist Union City nurses Chelsi Spencer and PJ Andrew read “How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon?”

Team members employed Pete the Kitten and Dino the Dinosaur props for the medical-themed story time. Following the reading, they gave a brief exercise demonstration and distributed fitness water bottles to the children and their parents on behalf of Baptist Union City.

At the conclusion, Dennison shared the following Bible verses with the children:

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” – Psalm 127:3 NLT

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’” – Matthew 19:14 NKJV
