Baptist Cancer Center and Baptist Medical Group recently welcomed Dr. Nnamdi Gwacham to the Memphis Gynecologic Oncology Program. Gwacham will practice at Baptist Cancer Center–Memphis Gynecological Oncology.
A gynecologic oncologist who specializes in the care of women with cervical, ovarian, vulvar and uterine cancers, as well as rare gynecologic malignancies, Gwacham is experienced in performing minimally invasive robotic surgeries and radical cytoreductive surgeries.
He has conducted extensive research on a range of topics related to gynecologic cancers, including techniques for robotic surgery and protocols for surgery and chemotherapy designed to preserve fertility. He has co-authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed studies.
Gwacham earned his doctorate at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, and his Master of Science in Human Movement Science from Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
He completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) in Livingston, New Jersey, and the Gruber Visiting Fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at AdventHealth Cancer Institute in Orlando, Florida.
