Baptist Cancer Center, in partnership with the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, raised approximately $56,000 for its patient assistance fund. Recent fundraising efforts, including the vendor fair preceding the Medical Oncology Journal Club (MOJC) meeting on Thursday, Oct. 19, and the Smash Cancer Tennis Tournament on Friday, Oct. 20, played vital roles in reaching this fundraising milestone.
Baptist team members participated in the Smash Cancer Tennis Tournament held at TPC Southwind and brought their families out for a day of fun, including food, yard games, a photo booth and pickleball.
The patient assistance fund provides critical support for Baptist Cancer Center patients, including transportation, gas and grocery cards, emergency assistance and patient care supplies. The fund is also used for patient support groups, patient education and research.
“With these significant contributions, we are not just raising money; we are providing patients with a ray of hope during their battle against cancer,” said Kirsty-Rhe Tiffner, Baptist Cancer Center marketing director. “This achievement is a testament to our community’s commitment to making a difference.”
