Baptist Calhoun joined in all the fun at the 27th annual Sawmill Festival held in Bruce, Mississippi, during the July 15 weekend.
“The sawmill fest this past weekend was a huge success!” said Collin Cheek, assistant administrator at Baptist Calhoun. “We hosted a health fair and checked more than 115 blood pressures in addition to passing out tons of cold water.”
The Baptist team participated for most of the day beginning at 7 a.m. The event, the largest one in the county, focuses on all things timber in the central part of the state, celebrating the lumberjacks and sawmill traditions with live music, games, food, local vendors, arts and crafts and antique cars.
Collin served as emcee of the event, giving periodic announcements throughout the day about Baptist’s four-star nursing home, hospital, and primary care clinic in Calhoun City, Mississippi. “I had countless people approach my team and thank us for getting back out in the community and for advertising Baptist,” said Collin.
