The Baptist Art of Caring event and auction raised nearly $117,000 for the Kemmons Wilson Family Center for Good Grief. Several supporters placed bids online, and nearly 300 people attended the event at the FedEx Event Center at Shelby Farms Park on Thursday, April 25.
Many local businesses donated items for the silent auction, with 65 local and regional artists represented. Attendees enjoyed a Rio Carnival atmosphere with delicious food and drinks, live music and a photo booth.
“It was wonderful to be with so many of our dedicated supporters for a fun evening at Baptist Art of Caring. The funds raised will help us continue the free grief counseling we provide for our community,” said Angela Hamblen Kelly, administrator of bereavement services. “Our work would not be possible without the generosity of our donors.”
