Baptist Anderson and Baptist Golden Triangle Recognize Team Members

Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center recently presented the BEE Award to a team member, and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle honored its TULIP Award winner. Keep reading to learn more about these outstanding team members.

Baptist Anderson

Baptist Anderson recently presented the BEE Award to Jonathan Wiggins, inpatient pharmacist, for the exceptional skills and daily compassion he shows. The award recognizes non-nursing team members who work in supportive roles or provide direct patient care.

Wiggins was nominated by a colleague, who said, “Jonathan always goes above and beyond and never hesitates to help whenever there is a need. We had a patient actively having an emergency on our unit who needed medication immediately. Jonathan was contacted and, without hesitation, he ran to the unit to assist. The night shift wouldn’t be the same without him.”

BEE Award honorees enjoy a surprise award presentation surrounded by their peers and receive a BEE lapel pin, copy of the nomination story, framed certificate, professional headshot that is featured on the BEE Award Honoree Wall and cupcakes to share with colleagues.

During National Hospital Week, volunteers sponsor the annual BEE Award Brunch to recognize the past year’s honorees and announce the BEE of the Year, who receives a special parking spot near the main lobby for a year.

Baptist Golden Triangle

Teliak Davis, technician in the Inpatient Psychiatry unit, was selected as a TULIP (Thoughtful, Unforgettable, Lasting Impact on Patient Care) Award winner for the third quarter. He was nominated by a team member for his selfless, positive attitude and compassion. The nominator praised Davis for picking up shifts and his willingness to work in an area that is challenging both physically and emotionally.

“This past week, a patient didn’t have shoes. Without being asked, he bought the patient a pair of Jordans. The patient cried and thanked him. This is just one of his many selfless acts,” said the nominator.

Davis received a TULIP pin for his name badge, a framed award certificate, flowers, a preferred parking spot, a banner to display on his unit for the quarter and freshly baked cookies to share with his unit.

For the TULIP Award, Baptist Golden Triangle’s award committee selects one honoree from the hospital’s nursing support staff each quarter who goes above and beyond to provide outstanding, compassionate care for patients.
