The stroke quality achievement award honors hospitals for their commitment to providing stroke patients with the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, leading to more lives saved and reduced disability. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment.
Heart Failure Recognition
The Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure program is designed to increase healthy days at home and reduce hospital readmissions for heart failure patients. Hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to treating patients according to the most up-to-date guidelines as outlined by AHA can qualify for the award.
Diabetes Recognition
The Target: Type 2 Diabetes initiative aims to help ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized because of heart failure, heart attack or stroke.
Resuscitation Recognition
Get With The Guidelines – Resuscitation is AHA’s collaborative quality improvement program, which aims to save more lives by preventing in-hospital cardiac arrest and optimizing outcomes through benchmarking, quality improvement, knowledge translation and research.
