Employee Health is implementing a new, more efficient way to manage requests for leaves of absence or accommodation. On Monday, Jan. 23, Employee Health representatives will begin using AbsenceSoft cloud-based software. In this initial phase of implementing AbsenceSoft, team members don’t need to do anything differently when requesting a leave of absence. However, team members, managers and Human Resources representatives will gain better insight into the process with real-time updates.
The new leave management tool will allow Baptist Memorial Health Care to transition from manual processes to paperless automation and increase standardization and efficiency across the system.
“It’s a triple win. AbsenceSoft will facilitate greater efficiency for Employee Health, our leaders and team members with timely, automated communication,” said Chief Human Resources Officer of Market Operations Walter Banks.
In the coming months, team members will receive training on how to use AbsenceSoft, and will begin using the portal to make requests for leaves of absence or accommodation during the second phase of implementation in the spring. Supervisors will also begin utilizing AbsenceSoft for viewing leave status information and return-to-work dates for direct reports.
“Team members can expect to see increased communication from us with automatic replies. Right now, it is a very manual process, but with AbsenceSoft, team members will get their leave managed more quickly,” said System Director of Employee Health Lesley Heckaman.
