Baptist Carroll County would like to thank the children’s departments at First Baptist Huntingdon, First Baptist McKenzie, First United Methodist Huntingdon and the Huntingdon Church of Christ for taking the time to provide encouraging and motivational care cards for the staff. Team members can view the cards at various locations in the hospital.
To those involved with this gracious gift, Baptist Carroll County wants you to know how these cards have brought team members much joy and happiness. From the bottom of our hearts, we say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Every card has made a huge impact on keeping morale high and reminding us of the love of Jesus Christ.
Director of Pastoral Care, Chaplain Michael Dennison said, “Carroll County is blessed to have so many amazing churches, and it’s an honor to partner with them in ministry. It just goes to show you how great of a community we have here in this area. These children and their leaders have blessed us when we needed it the most. COVID-19 has been tough for our staff, but we continue to persevere in the faith, and in our service to our patients and their families. When we received these compassionate cards, it was just another reminder to us of God’s providential care during trying times. And, what a blessing to see the Holy Spirit working in and through the lives of these young kids.”
Here are a few examples of some uplifting messages from the children: “You’ve got this nurses! We are grateful for you, and we love what you are doing for the sick people. You are pretty brave. Remember God is with you. He will take care of you. I will be praying for you. You are awesome, feel loved. Thank you for doing good deeds for the world. Don’t be scared, God loves you. Doctors are heroes. Believe in yourself, God believes in you. You are popping with joy. You are the best. Thank you for providing good medicine. Thank you for being a helper. Thank you, Heroes!”
On many of these beautifully crafted cards were scriptures from the Bible that remind us of the goodness of God. For example, Philippians 4:6-7 was one such verse: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Other key verses included: Psalms 18:2, Ephesians 1:16 and Colossians 3:17.
“At Baptist Carroll County, we feel blessed by our community every single day, and these cards are just another reminder of God’s love and faithfulness,” said Susan Breeden, administrator and chief executive officer of Baptist Carroll County.
